Society For Human Resource Managment
Certification is a voluntary action by a professional group to establish a system to grant recognition to professionals who have met a stated level of training and work experience. Certified individuals are usually issued a certificate attesting that they have met the standards of the credentialing organization and are entitled to make the public aware of their credentialed status, usually through the use of initials (i.e., PHR or SPHR) after their names.
- PHR® (Professional in Human Resources)
- SPHR® (Senior Professional in Human Resources)
- GPHR (Global Professional in Human Resources)
Certifications differ from certificate programs because certifications include an experience component. Certificate programs, on the other hand, award certificates once a course of study has been completed and do not require previous work experience. FMI: http://www.shrm.org/education/about.asp
Are you a good standing CCHRMA member?
Human Resources and compensation professionals are not required to obtain state licenses for their practice. To prove their expertise and develop greater knowledge in their fields, they must pursue their own continuing education. This opportunity will help you earn the •PHR® or •SPHR® designation that will distinguish your skills and experience from others within the HR profession.
CCHRMA Members interested in obtaining the PHR® or SPHR® certification can learn in an environment that will meet the multiple demands of your busy lifestyle. This is a virtual online instructor course which will fit all schedules and learning styles. What are you waiting for? There is no time like the present. Interested members please contact Nicole Andrade, SPHR at (361) 881-1306 or e-mail nandrade@txstateaq.org
TWO CORE CERTIFICATION LEVELS AVAILABLE
Now CCHRMA professionals, affiliate, and student members seeking Professional in Human Resources (PHR®), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) can connect anywhere in the world and meet in a virtual classroom for a unique online interactive class. Web conferencing enables us to communicate using the Internet and a basic phone connection. As we review the SHRM Learning System modules you will have the ability to interact with others and submit questions in a virtual atmosphere while in the privacy of your home or away on travel. Additionally, participants may access and review the course sessions at a later time. To determine which of the two core certification exams are best for you, take the HR Certification Institute's Online Assessment exams at www.hrci.org/assessmentexam. These exams will help you determine your strengths and weaknesses in each of the functional areas and allow you to become familiar with the format and difficulty level of the exam questions.
All CCHRMA professional, affiliate, and student members are invited to take the course for the purposes of professional growth and opportunity to learn in an enriching environment. However, test candidates must pre-qualify for the HRCI exam with a minimum of two years of professional HR experience which consists of 51% of daily activities within the HR function at the exempt level as defined by the FLSA.
Please feel free to email us at nandrade@txstateaq.org if you have any questions.
