President:
The President has general charge and supervision of the affairs and business of the chapter committees and their related issues, concerns, planning, implementation, and oversight. The President conducts regular chapter board and membership meetings as the presiding officer. The President summarizes the activities and accomplishments of the chapter during the term of office and utilized resources of the Volunteer Leaders' ResourceCenter. Develop and maintain position descriptions for chapter leaders. Conduct an annual strategic planning meeting and new board orientation. Distribute copies of Leaders Edge.

President Elect:
The President Elect performs the duties of the President during the President's absence or temporary disability; or represent the President upon special request in carrying out the objectives of the chapter and other relative duties as assigned by the President.

Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for the preparation of the minutes of all meetings of the board and other business meeting of the chapter monthly meetings. The Secretary prepares the ballots for submission to the membership of the chapter and other relative duties as assigned by the President.

Treasurer:
The Treasurer is responsible for the financial affairs of the chapter which include prepare an annual budget for the chapters fiscal year, interpretation and dissemination of financial reports to the board; publish financial statement for the membership, coordinate outside arrangements for an annual fiscal audit; filed timely tax returns, and other relative duties as assigned by the President.

Immediate Past President:
The Immediate Past President conducts an annual leadership transition and orients the presiding president into the successful power of duties. Upon the request of the President, may represent the chapter upon special request in carrying out the objectives of the chapter and other relative duties as assigned by the President.

Membership:
The Membership Chairperson establishes and maintains a membership initiative to actively promote, recruit and attract new members. Report to the board all of the membership applicants for the prior month; conduct new member orientation, and maintain a current roster of members. Promote the benefits of SHRM membership to all members and other relative duties as assigned by the President.

Programs:
The Programs Chairperson selects speakers who will provide chapter members with human resource informative and useful topics for monthly meetings and annual seminars and all other relative duties as assigned by the President.

Publicity and Website:
The Publicity and Website Chairperson maintains the chapter website, link to the SHRM news feed, HRCI, SHRM Foundation, list chapter leaders, list program dates and topics on the website, provide the online capacity for members to join or renew. Promote and encourages membership interest and active participation via communication of e-mail, website, news release information and other activities as assigned by the President.

Newsletter:
The Newsletter Chairperson publish a monthly newsletter to promote and encourage member interest and active participation in local, state, and national events, news, legislative affairs through written human resource related articles. Display the SHRM promotional materials at meetings, provide SHRM benefit updates at the luncheon meetings, highlight SHRM services in chapter newsletter and other activities as assigned by the President.

Legislative:
The Legislative Chairperson assess human resource related business issues and interest; educates it's members, and promotes and communicates the SHRM position to the decision makers in government, members and general community. Participate in a capitol lobby day, host a state or federal policy maker to speak at a chapter meeting, present quarterly updates at chapter meetings, keep members informed of alerts and other activities as assigned by the President.

HRCI Certification:
The Certification Chairperson promotes the benefits and value of HRCI certification and educates on the recertification process. Conduct a bi-annual HRCI exam study group for chapter members preparing to take the SPHR or PHR certification test. Obtain recertification pre-approval for chapter developed educational programs such as the Annual Labor Seminar and other activities as assigned by the President.

Best Places 2 Work Committee:
The Best Places 2 Work Committee recognize the positive working environments of organizations through an online survey method. The committee coordinate, plan and prepare for the Annual Best Places 2 Work awards banquet event and other activities as assigned by the President.

Workforce Readiness Committee:
The Workforce Readiness Committee plan, coordinate and implement workforce readiness activities in the community through the Annual Career Expo. Disseminate materials via high school and college presentations, Support job Shadow Day, and partner with the Junior Achievement activities and other activities as assigned by the President.

HR Southwest Ambassador:
The HR Southwest Ambassador promote the State of Texas SHRM Conference to Chapter community members and offer pre-registration information, provide the scheduled curriculum, event directions, travel and overall attendance support and other activities as assigned by the President.

College Relations:
The College Relations Chairperson provides educational books, magazines, video materials to students, and serves as a liaison for businesses seeking students for HR internship program. The Chairperson encourages professional speakers for student programs, arrange company tours, and participate in career day activities, student mentoring programs and other activities as assigned by the President.

Diversity Leadership:
The Diversity Chairperson conducts a diversity related seminar, promote and develop the Chapter diversity initiatives or activities that reflect the demographics of the community, sponsor an award based on workplace diversity issues and other activities as assigned by the President.

SHRM Foundation:
The SHRM Foundation Liaison holds a fundraising event to benefit the SHRM Foundation, educates the Chapter members on the work of the SHRM Foundation, Promote the SHRM Foundation in newsletters, and pledges to increase the number of individual donors and Chapter donation over the previous year.

Nominating Committee:
The nominating committee identifies candidates for officer positions and submits the names of the candidates to the President for consideration and complete relative duties as assigned by the President.
Scholarship Committee:
The Scholarship committee determines recipient eligibility and award scholarships according to the Scholarship Guidelines and other significant activities as assigned by the President.
